1. Go With an Accountable Friend/Partner

Sometimes simply having an accountability partner to go with makes things seem so much simpler. Keep in mind if you are just starting your fitness journey, you want to pick friend/ partner that is close to the same level as you. Otherwise you can quickly become discouraged and quit. On the flip side, make sure your partner is as committed as you are. It's easy to skip days when one partner is not as committed as the other.
2. Attend a Class

Believe it or not classes are an excellent way to get over gym anxiety! Yes you are among other people while working out, but classes are very inviting and tailored for all fitness levels. You can be a beginner and fit right in. No one is there to judge! The class instructors are also very helpful in walking around to assist, so use this to your advantage. Classes give you something to look forward to while also providing a set time to work out. Consistency for the win! While you're at it, you might even meet a new friend. Check your gyms class schedule and attend a class you feel you would enjoy. If you workout at your apartments, a lot of them have weekly classes they provide for free, so check with your leasing office.
3. Find a Membership at a Smaller Gym/ Studio

Sometimes bigger gyms like 24 Hour Fitness and LA Fitness are not the right fit, especially for women since we tend to be more self conscious. Boutique style gyms are becoming household names now. If you feel like you might thrive more in a smaller setting check out studios like Orange Therapy, Curves, Cycle Bar, 9Rounds etc. A lot of studios specialize in certain types of training that could fit you perfect! Check your area for a list of studios and smaller gyms.
4. Hire a Personal Trainer

Personal trainers are a great source to use to learn correct form, gain strength, lose weight, and acquire a plan to your health. They are there to coach you through your fitness journey. If you are lost as to where to start, trainers are your best allies. Together you will discuss goals, eating habits, and the trainer will design a program specifically for you!
